We had laminate flooring installed to eliminate all the carpet and tile in the coach. We engineered the flooring so when the slide out is extended we lay a board down to cover the gap and have a totally flat floor. Laminate is so much easier to keep clean than the carpet was.
The 6 AGM batteries are maintenance free and the solar power keeps them charged while the coach is not being used. We spent $6K for the solar and batteries. We spent another $6K to have the flooring replaced. We have upgraded the large slide out motor to be a center drive which is great. The original design had a manufacturing defect and the solution was the upgraded Clabber Motor. We have sun screens for the windshield and side windows in the cockpit area of the coach. These are nice when staying in place for a few days. You can see out the screens in daylight but you cannot see into the coach. They also keep the heat gain down in hot weather. We have a spare motor for the rear slide should it go bad. We bought the spare motor when the large slide used the same motor as the rear slide.
We have not had any major problems with the coach! It has been a very reliable unit. Alfa went out of business 2 years ago but there is a company (Alfateers) that purchased their assets and they have all the drawings and supplier listing for parts. They can supply parts as required for the coach and of course Freightliner, Cat and Allison can repair any chassis problems. So, parts and service are available. There are some other RV repair facilities that specialize in Alfa service depending on the area of the country you are located in.
