2003 Holiday Rambler Scepter 40PWB Cummins Engine ISC 350 8.3L Allison Transmission MH3000 Roadmaster R-Series Chassis 108K miles We bought this motorhome a year and a half ago from the original owners after it sat in storage for seven years. Our intention was to travel the five state area and for me to use it hunting up north but I have retired from hunting and we have decided that we would rather have a seasonal site on a good fishing lake. That, and this unit needs to be hitting the road and traveling the U.S! It would be ideal for snowbirds or full-time RVers! So it is time to sell. Boyer Trucking in Savage, MN got the engine in running condition in the spring of 2023: Cleaned and refinished diesel tank and lines (had algae growth). Entire air system refurbished. New power steering line. All new tires. New chassis (2) and coach (4) batteries. Pleasureland in Shakopee, MN has been doing all the work to the coach. Inspected and sealed entire LP system. Roof resealed in last winter. Pros: Smooth, quiet ride. Newly tuned diesel generator. Ceiling A/C runs cold and heat pumps run nice and warm. We honestly haven’t even used the furnace yet but the LP system has no leaks. Huge four door refrigerator. Has optional 10 disc changer and citizen band radio. (3) TV’s: above cab, in bedroom & one mounted in the outdoor storage. Has optional wrap around computer table with recliner. New fabric awning. Cons: Three areas of exterior delamination: Above windshield, on the front driver slide-out and one of the access doors directly beneath it (see pictures). Front ‘protective coating’ cracked and needs to be removed (purely aesthetic). The HWH air leveling system powers up but does not level the unit. Old water damage on wall behind captains chair. Some of the floor tile has been replaced (I assume from old water damage). A few of the mini-blinds don’t work properly. I have an October appointment to rectify a few remaining issues: a) Kitchen sink fittings cracked and need replacement. b) Two ceiling fans not working. Kitchen and bathroom. c) Black tank flushing system not working. |
